Just write the facts as they are. Start with your most important information. If there are any numbers or other contact info, move that info toward the first few graphs of the story. Also, it is important to remember that you have to leave out anything that's opinionated such as "this exciting event" or "dazzling spectactle" if you want it to get printed. Also remember that in newspaper writing, each sentence is its own paragraph, so hit the return button often. Beyond that, you can reference Associated Press style online and make sure to include a photo if you want it toward the front of the paper.
