Can anyone give me guidance on my press release that I have written and how I can improve it?

I have written a press release to publicise my latest project. I need some expert advice and guidance on whether or not it is OK, things that need changing or how it can be made better. Please help!

I write press releases for a living (amongst other things).

Best advice I can offer is to keep it simple, succinct and to the point. Try to write it as a news article, so that if they use it, the editors are less inclined to edit it too much.

Put the most important info into the first few lines - and don't be tempted to waffle on too much. Nobody in a busy newsroom will have the time or inclination to read it and it'll end up filed in the bin.

Good luck

Better to arrange a stunt the local media will think is diferent and funky and will amuse their readers and advertisers.
Best recent one was crashing airliners into skyscrapers, papers were full of it for weeks, still drag up something about it most days in fact.
At the end of the day no matter how good the press release it will achieve nothing if it is not different to the usual dross. Dog Bites man, is boring, Dog bites mans leg off better man bites dogs leg off better still, Vicar kicks little old ladies dog and gets caught on CCTV now that is a story.
So find an angle and sell it.

There are press release companies on the Internet - they'll probably charge a fee for the service you require but might be worth it to get a prof to run over your work and zap it up. Good luck.
