The Real Gov. Sarah Palin
What does the Governor of Alaska do? What issues does she deal with? What are her responsibilities? What has she accomplished?
Unfortunately, we know very little of this while the media focuses on everything else.
If you are serious about getting some real information, please take the time to read through this presentation. It is info culled from press releases and a few news clippings. It is just a sample.
I will leave it up to you to form your own opinion or find out more specifics about each issue. I just thought we needed a start.
I tried to pace the presentation to a regular reading speed, but you may need to press “pause” from time to time as I was limited to the 10 minutes.

I don’t see what the big deal is with her selling the jet and getting way less than what it was paid for. Not to mention how Palin would take her kids without permision to travel around as governor riding FIRST class (we know how EXPENSIVE THOSE SEATS ARE) and staying at luxury suites for $750.00 a night.

If you don’t want to be bias, then why don’t you list Joe Biden’s resume as well. Then we’ll see who’s really qualified to be Vice President of the United States. BTW, Palin went to 5 different schools because she couldn’t make up her mind and finally graduated with an undergrad in journalism/mass media degree. contrast it to Obama’s educational background. Uhh, self proclaimed pitbull with lipstick/hockey mom,,, no thanks.

For McCain to pick someone like Palin doesn’t speak well of his “maverick” ways. You don’t run a ticket of being for both sides when you pick someone who is so to the right as her. I don’t believe that babies should be aborted but I do believe that if you are raped you should get the choice.

By the way, the plane is only one issue and she got rid of it, perhaps at a loss, but it certainly won’t take any more money out of the budget for something that is not necessary. I’m looking for those who will cut spending and decrease government…

Well as a citizen …
Well as a citizen of the state of Alaska, it is my business what my govenor does with my tax dollars. And this isn’t the only issue where her involvemnt with tax money is squirrely. She’s made no secret of how she’s improved her hometown, but there are poorer places in the state that she hasn’t given the time of day.

JRpec - I’m not sure why this issue of selling the plane “at a loss” is an issue. I don’t even think it’s true. The purchase of the plane is a sunk cost. By selling the plane, she recovers most of the cost and also avoids future costs of fuel, maintenance, insurance, etc. She replaced the plane by flying coach on commercial airlines. From a net present value standpoint, the state probably came out ahead. Unless you have all those numbers, you are really speaking from a point of ignorance.

Yes it’s better to keep your mouth shut rather than confirm to ppl that you are a rude jerk who can’t tell ppl when they have a single point incorrect in a conversation where they were otherwize correct, rather than to be a sound and sage voice of reason. My husband ahs his PH.d and has worked in Alaska in regards to the Gas in Alaska.
he said these things.
1. the qualify of the oil is pour and will take about between 50 and 90 gallons to make one at best. We don’t have the refinery in this country to process the oil.
2. The price of gasoline from this oil will be much higher that what we have for the cost of producing the gas will be very high..

I think anyone could study up on the topics of the VP Debates. I would love to see her interviewed by the media more. She is well trained but has no substance of knowledge for what she speaks at the debate or anywhere and would mislead us to think she reads about issues. She misrepresents her self.

She sold that plane …
She sold that plane at a financial loss to the state. Not to mention that there are places in Alaska that can only be reached by plane. If as a Gov. of the state she should need to visit these towns on official business, she’ll have to ask someone to give her a ride.

Culling information …
Culling information from mostly press releases put out by her handlers and a few sympathetic news stories does NOT strike me as the best way to judge this extremist’s political positions or intellectual acumen. We should also check into investigative reporting of facts about how she ran her small town and then Alaska. Watch her interviews, and see how her answers are incoherent, on the level of a confused beauty pageant contestant. Say NO to this marketing promotion by McCain.
