Why does everyone hate the Wii?

The Wii is awesome. Most people hate it because it is Nintendo, and if the PS3 was named POS3 everybody would say it was so amazing, but no, because Wii is Nintendo, it sucks.
After Nintendo said that the Revolution's name is now Wii, every video game blog, non-specialized blog, and some newspapers had something about the Wii. That kind of publicity can't be bought by Microsoft or Sony.
Nintendo is a video-gaming only company, unlike Microsoft or Sony. It doesn't have a Windows XP or lots of computer stuff to help fund it. It's consoles have to be cheap to make because of this. That's why the Gamecube didn't have DVD playback or lots of online stuff. It's also why Nintendo doesn't create a super-expensive POS that's just an upgraded version of the previous console with better graphics. It focuses on what matters. Control. I'd much rather play Battlefront on the Wii with N64 graphics than on XBox 360 with each fingerprint different.
Playstation sounds like a baby's crib IMHO.

Go play with your Star Wars dolls. Wii sounds stupid and you know it.

Frankly, I think the console is probably just fine. I just happen to think it's a stupid name. If they had just stuck with calling it the Revolution it would probably not be getting the feedback it's getting. Then again, who cares what it's called… If it's fun, go with it. Don't worry about the rest.

actually, I agree! At least Nintendo is trying to do something new, instead of just singing the same old song. What's so inovative about 360 or PS3, except their prices?!? There's nothing new about it! It's just something to force gamers to buy more stuff!! It's all market!! I love Nintendo bcuz of it's classic games. ….Now, what Nintendo's done recently, the DS, lacks any raw game backbone what so ever!!! All in all, the DS fails because it simply doesn't have games worth playing. Any self respecting gamer knows that's the most important thing! If Nintendo would shape up and make games as good as they used to be for N64, Wii could turn out alright. Saying it's great is a bit too hasty. I need to see it in action b4 I can say anything, but I am anxious to see the gyroscope controller in action, even if the design is lame. …You agree?

I love the Idea of Wii, the only thing I don't like is the name which is kinda weird, I liked revolution, but whatever floats Nintendo's boat. I love Nintendo games because they are so original and great. I was playing my gamecube last night realizing that the graphics are pretty great for something that supposedly has bad graphics, and if the Wii is even going to be a little better at graphics then cool. My favorite part of the Wii is the controller, I plan on getting a Wii when it comes out if there are any games that look cool. It's also awesome that it's gonna be backwards compatible with games, and even with the Gamecube controllers. Overall it's the most innovative system to ever come out!

Wow at those two really negative responses. You guys should STFU and GTFO. Your opponion doesn't count because you have nothing good to say and you probably didn't read a word of what he said. He brings up great points but you come here with your Nintendo-hating logic and say useless things about him. You can go back to your Xbox/PS2/360, but when Wii hit the market, you'll be begging to go over to your friend's house to play with his Wii. Go figure.

The wii sounds cool because of the new controller, any gamer who didn't want to try it would be lying. The only thing I currently hate about the Wii is that it's called the Wii. It doesn't sound very cool like the Revolution. The Revolution made sense because the console itself was a revolution.
