I absouloutly detest giving out my SS#. Everytime I call my insuance Co. they want my SS#. Everytime I call another employee of Horizon gets a copy of my SS#.
To get a cell phone you need to give them your SS#. That is BS. They have no need for it. They can make up their own numbering system if they like. Don’t distribute my SS#. I have an option of giving Verizon 400. to hold for one year but they don’t pay any intrest on that money.

Retailer credit is another scam - they offer discounts to you for applying for and using their credit cards, but what most dont realize is the ’savings’ are temporary while the information they collect on you is permanent. In addition, the requisite credit check pursuant to your application actually damages your credit rating. Not such a good deal after all, eh?

Very true. Thats why I have no ‘preferred shopper’ card from my local grocer. I refuse to give them my SS# for the ‘privilege’ of shopping at their stores. Yes, I miss out on the ‘discounts’ but I retain my privacy and no database of my shopping habits is recorded.

I just went to apply though an agency for a job and spent 3 hours signing paperwork giving away my rights.
Yet I challenged them. Wrote my own legal clauses into their documents and REFUSED to give up certain rights. I was ready to walk from the client if necessary because I was not going to give up MY intellectual property because their document says the OWN anything I create.
I was going to put it in PRIOR to my arrival and if they do not like it I REFUSE to work with them. Period.

Yes, the check I was cashing was a Chase Check - forgot that part.
The thing that irritates me is that this is the attitude of people - TAKE IT. TAKE ANYTHING these people - any process that they seek to shove at you. That is BS.
If we do not challenge process we will have a society of robots (check my blog).
What people need to understand is that when the ROLE of the ADVOCATE dies so does Democratic governance. Process RULES and with no one to challenge this. It rules poorly.

Chase informed me …
Chase informed me of the $5.00 fee to cash their own check and while I was displeased, I begrudgingly agreed. They cashed the check (less the $5.00) but failed to issue me a receipt. I have no accounting of that $5.00 and neither does Chase.
It occured to me that with no record of these fees, if Chase cashed 1000 checks each day, that translates into $5000.00 per day of income for which Chase does not report as income. Thats ovet $1.3 million in tax free income to Chase Bank each year.

The plan to to create a co-op that can provide services to its members. It is in our FINANCIAL interest to provide the BEST most unavailable services to our members so we can grow the community.

Because the FCC would mandate that these these of corporations obtain prime time TV time every day (it would be in the FCC licensing requirements for media companies) - the people would ALWAYS have a voice. So the media COULD be owned by 5 Corporations but it would not matter because of this mandate that they MUST follow to retain their license. They would also be able to treat these time-slots like “the superbowl” in terms of advertising and place commercials around the AC type content.

Rather it MUST put INFORMATION over all other competing interests and since it was 100% transparent the person looking at one of these type of corporations createable by ANYONE would be able to SEE it’s activity and not support it and it like other companies would die due to lack of financial support. So they would EASY to create and the government would simply subsidize INFORMATION but not a position (which they should not do anyway).

I looked at this system and realized that information needed to be held by a component of the system not driven by profit that needed to be federally subsidized, privately owned, had tax benefits for donating to, could buy and sell stock and got free TV time via an FCC mandate.
Most importantly, it needed to have as a LEGAL responsibility that it COULD NOT put PROFIT over all other competing interests since the seeking of profit and information distribution are fundamentally incompatible.

What I realized is that we needed a counterbalance to the existing for profit corporations - see the movie The Corporation.
NONE of us by ourselves can make the kind of massive social changes needed at this time due to the SYSTEMS in play.
The sooner we understand that we are not dealing with “people” but “systems” - the sooner we can deal with this problem holistically.
