I've always wondered what Press release and articles were for.?
to bringing in traffic of course.
BUT.
I always thought you release the press releases and articles to up the ranking of your own customized SEO pages in your domain.
But what if my domain's landing page isn't optimized for search engines?
Can the press releases and articles used as a doorway page for ITSELF to be ranked of search engines, and drive traffic to my website?
Is that how it works? Can they be used stand-alone if my domain page isn't for SEO?
Sorry, I got confused with this.
A press release is a public relations tool that's used in an attempt to attract the media's attention. Oftentimes, a press release will be created and then e-mailed or faxed to members of the media who may be interested in hear about it.
If you spend a bit of time, you can probably track down contact information for reporters who may be interested in your Web site. Otherwise, there are various Web sites out there you can purchase a listing from.
Can you optimize a press release for search engines? Sure. But it depends on the content of that press release. How many times have you been searching for something–say "new movies"–and you've come across a press release?
It would be best to optimize your landing pages.
